Fake Rocks For The Yard

Fake Rocks: How They Improve The Yard

Oversized, large rocks and boulders add that extra touch of nature to an otherwise basic yard or space. However, real rocks are extremely heavy, making them difficult to transport and put into place. For this reason, many people are electing to use fake rocks. Not only are they significantly lighter, but they are also less expensive.

Fake rocks are incredibly realistic looking and come in all shapes, sizes, colors and dimensions. Some are tall and jagged, while others are small and round. Natural granite shades, like charcoal, grey and brown, blend flawlessly with existing trees, grass and other outdoor features. Surrounding the edges of fake rocks with mulch, grass and flowers enhances their appearance and contributes to the lifelike image.

One of the main benefits of fake rocks is that the inside is hollow. This means they can be used to conceal unsightly things in the yard such as a septic take cover, sprinkler valve or a pool filter. In addition, fake rocks will keep everyone safe. For example, a slightly protruding tree stump in the middle of the yard can cause people to trip. Once it is covered with a towering fake rock, it will be easy to avoid. Another use for fake rocks is as a driveway marker with a name or address plaque. Although fake rocks serve a variety of purposes, they can simply be used for decoration, to improve the yard.

Typically, fake rocks are made from a highly durable plastic composite, a polyethylene material or fiberglass. These mediums will not crack in cold weather. Because they are so lightweight, they can be put into position without the aid of heavy machinery. At the same time, fake rocks are sturdy enough that they will not blow around during a heavy wind storm.
